The project 57x76 with Goenawan
Mohamad is a collaboration that differs

from Hanafi ’s earlier collaborative works. It
was prepared well in advance with different
methods and continues to grow, and it
shows a dynamic creation of unique works

of art. Since the beginning of his career,
Hanafi has done many collaborations,
not only with fellow painters, also with
interdisciplinary artists, such as writers,

musicians, and performance artists.
This collaboration also took the form
of assisting in the promotion of arts
and culture organized by his non-profi t

organization, Studiohanafi , either by
traveling to various regions or holding
residencies at Studiohanafi in Depok. Now
Hanafi , Goenawan Muhammad and his

team are developing galerikertas in an
effort to extend the creation of art through
paper and the regeneration of artists using
paper, whether as a medium or in any

mode of creation.
